This award recognizes outstanding use of volumetric capture in an XR experience. Honoring technical and artistic excellence, the winner demonstrates how volumetric performance can enhance realism, emotion, and presence within immersive narratives or environments. The Best Volumetric Capture category celebrates projects that skillfully integrate volumetric video to elevate storytelling, character interaction, or spatial engagement. Whether through lifelike performances or innovative scene composition, this award highlights the power of captured reality in XR.
Eligible projects must have been produced at least 30% within Europe and will be judged on capture quality, integration within the experience, and overall impact on immersion. Creators requiring financial aid may qualify for €100 euro off nomination fees and complimentary tickets to attend the XR Awards Gala through the Creators Fund.
