The VR Awards brings together top executives and pioneers from across the world every year, rolling out the red carpet award and providing a platform for recognising the very best talent in the immersive industry.

Drinks Reception

The VR Awards 2017 began the night in true black tie fashion. As over 300 international delegates arrived for the evening’s events, guests were greeted with champagne and given the opportunity to network before the official opening speeches.

Opening Speeches

Both Daniel Colaianni from AIXR and James Knight from AMD Studios took to the stage, providing a warm welcome to delegates and reflecting on just how far the industry has come in such a small amount of time.

2017 Dinner Menu

Starter

Fried pumpkin & sage cannelloni, roasted shallot, gruyere & pumpkin jam.

Main Dish

Slow roasted duck breast, pea puree, charred baby gem lettuce, petit pois a la française, pea and shallot tortelloni & spearmint jus.

Vegetarian Main Dish

Kale, beetroot & feta wellington, pea puree, charred baby gem lettuce, petit pois a la française, pea and shallot tortelloni spearmint jus

Dessert

Passion fruit tart, mango compote, coconut sorbet and toasted coconut marshmallow.

2017 3 Course Dinner

Live Entertainment

In collaboration with Google and Anna Zhilyaeva, a talented artist from Paris, the VR Awards team orchestrated a truly creative and innovative art piece utilising Google Tilt Brush. To tie the art piece together, the musical talent of London-based ZHL strings choreographed a condensed 15 minute performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

The Award Ceremony

2017 saw 12 award-worthy winners take to the stage to accept their trophies and give short but inspirational acceptance speeches. Most notably, both Google & Oculus went home with not one, but two awards.
